The Guitar

For all those of you who contributed to Joseph's guitar fund for his birthday, I thought you might want to see what it looks like. He loves it.

Teenager

Okay, I'm really behind here, but back on February 13, Joseph turned 13. We now have a teenager in the house. If any of you have a question about anything, feel free to call us, because Joseph is sure to know the answer! Due to a nasty stomach bug that was moving through our family that week, Joseph's party was delayed a week. So on his birthday, we opened gifts as a family. Then the next weekend, he went bowling with friends then brought them back here for pizza and "sting pong." (The losers have to take their shirts off and turn their backs and let the winners hit ping pong balls at them.) Then some friends called and we ended up going up to the church gym for basketball, following which we all came back home for cake. It was a great time!

Special Delivery

Back in February, Emma walked through the house carrying a bag. She told me she had a special mail delivery for me. She handed me a folded piece of paper addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Semus. This is what it said on the inside:

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Semus,

You have done a great job of taking care of you kids.

Ho Ho Ho and Happy Groundhog Day,

Santa

Who knew Santa celebrated Groundhog Day?
