Daddy's coat

For some reason, the other day the girls were very interested in wearing Daddy's safety jacket from work outside to play in the snow. The thing is blinding flourescent yellow, but they looked really cute in it. And they even took turns without fighting. That was amomentous occasion.

My baby

On February 13, Joseph turned 12. He still enjoys our little birthday traditions, but he is sure growing up. The 12th birthday is significant in our church, because the kids move from the Primary to the Youth, and also the boys receive the priesthood. Our church only has lay clergy, and the priesthood is simply the authority to act in God's name, and is only ever used in service to others. Right now, that consists of passing the sacrament (communion) in church). Joseph was ordained on Sunday in church, and takes his new responsibilities in a very serious fashion, typical of his personality. The weekend before, he celebrated by going to a Red Wings game in Pittsburgh with Joe, Jacob, and a friend from school. On his birthday, we went to Red Robin for dinner and then had some family friends over the following night for Dairy Queen strawberry cheesequake ice cream cake.

This is fun!

Today, I had so much fun shopping. Guess how much I paid for all the items in this picture bought at CVS and Giant Eagle?

That includes:

3 bags valentine candy (for the kids to attach to their classroom valentines)

2-1o packs of batteries

Gilette fusion razor

5 speed stick deoderants

2 Gilette shampoos

4 tubes toothpaste

6 boxes wheat thins (small)

1 box nutter butters (small)

4 fruit roll up stickerz

6 bags chex mix

.....The grand total for all this stuff was exactly $4.00. I found a cool cashier at Giant Eagle who doesn't mind scanning all my coupons, and watches to make sure they all go through. This was my most fun shopping trip so far!
